Removal of Lobby Furniture Was Only Temporary

LVT Number: 17766

Tenant complained of a reduction in building-wide services based on the removal of lobby furniture and mirrors. The DRA ruled against tenant, finding that modification of lobby furniture is a minor condition that doesn't warrant a rent reduction. Tenant appealed and lost. The Rent Stabilization Code lists modification of lobby furniture and removal of mirrors as examples of minor conditions. In addition, landlord stated that the removal of the furniture was only temporary, while building renovations were being completed.
