Consultant Fees for Boiler Installation Included

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on asbestos removal and the installation of a new boiler. The DRA ruled for landlord in part but denied any increase for the portion of the cost relating to consultation fees. Landlord appealed and won. Landlord showed that a professional engineer prepared the plans and specifications needed for the boiler installation, that this was directly related to the MCI installation, and that there was no duplicate cost. So landlord could get MCI increases for this part of the work performed.
