Violation Notice Didn't State Landlord's First Name

LVT Number: 13689

DOB issued a violation notice to landlord for not maintaining an elevator in a safe condition. The notice was addressed to ''Mr. Hirth.'' Landlord claimed that this was confusing because there were several partners who owned the building and two of them were named Hirth. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined him $350. Landlord appealed and lost. The violation properly identified the landlord. It didn't matter that any subsequent judgment might not be enforceable because it didn't specify which Mr. Hirth was named.
