Tenant Sought Emergency Relief from City

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. The court ruled for landlord, and an eviction warrant was issued. Tenant later asked the court to vacate the eviction warrant. The court ruled for tenant. Landlord appealed and lost. Tenant showed good cause to vacate the warrant. She had lived in the rent-stabilized apartment for 30 years, had made partial payments, and had made steady and ultimately successful efforts to secure emergency relief from the city.
