Tenant Sold Drugs from Apartment

LVT Number: 7059

Landlord sued to evict tenant for illegal conduct. Criminal court records showed that tenant had pleaded guilty to criminal possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a gun. Tenant's parole officer testified that tenant had cured his illegal behavior and paid his debt to society by his time in jail. The court ruled that this wasn't relevant. The law doesn't provide tenant with the opportunity to cure illegal conduct that occurred in the apartment. Landlord's eviction petition was granted.
