Tenant Restored to Possession
LVT Number: 15497
Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Landlord and tenant signed a settlement agreement in court, giving tenant some time to pay the back rent owed. Tenant was evicted when he didn't comply with the payment schedule. Tenant then asked the court to be restored to possession when he got money from DSS to pay the back rent. The court ruled for tenant. DSS had told landlord it had approved payment for tenant, and tenant had lived in the apartment for 11 years before getting sick and requiring public assistance.
