Tenant Owed Rent Under Valid Lease

Landlord sued tenant for unpaid rent. Tenant claimed that her lease wasn't valid and that no rent was owed. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant took possession of the unit, landlord cashed tenant's security deposit, and tenant made authorized renovations to the unit. These actions all sufficiently proved the parties' intent to convey a lease and deliver the premises to tenant. Since the lease was valid, tenant was responsible for the unpaid rent totaling $65,000.
