Rent Demand Defective
LVT Number: 18325
Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case. Tenant argued that landlord's rent demand was defective. Landlord admitted this, and submitted a new rent breakdown to the court. The court ruled for tenant and dismissed the case. Landlord gave no explanation for the different rent breakdowns or for the $1,000 difference between the amount claimed in the rent demand and the amount claimed in the new breakdown. Landlord now claimed that tenant owed $1,000 less than claimed in the rent demand.
