Raised Floor Boards Required Repair

LVT Number: #21207

Rent-stabilized tenant complained of a reduction in services. He claimed that dining room floor boards in his apartment were raised. The DRA ruled for tenant and reduced his rent. Landlord appealed, claiming that its home inspector reported that no repairs were needed. The City of Yonkers also inspected the apartment and found the floors to be in good condition and structurally sound. The DHCR ruled against landlord. The DHCR's inspector found that the dining room floor boards were raised near the bedroom and dining room table.

The DRA properly gave great weight to the findings of the DHCR's own inspector and correctly reduced tenant's rent.
