Landlord Can Evict Tenant for Nonpayment of Rent

Landlord sued to evict tenant for chronic nonpayment of rent. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant’s pattern of default forced landlord to start five nonpayment proceedings over a three and one-half year period. Each case was resolved in landlord’s favor, and tenant raised no valid defense in any of the nonpayment cases. Landlord could evict tenant.
