Landlord Can Evict Tenant for Failing to Buy Co-op Apartment
LVT Number: #26787
Landlord sued to evict tenant after the building was converted to cooperative ownership and tenant failed to purchase her apartment. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Landlord showed good cause for terminating tenant’s month-to-month tenancy based on tenant’s failure to purchase, and landlord’s delay in starting the eviction proceeding didn’t matter.
