Inspection Confirmed That Building's Emergency Number Worked

LVT Number: #31060

Rent-stabilized tenant complained of a reduction in building-wide services. The DRA ruled against tenant and terminated the proceeding. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant had complained that, outside the A-K side of the building and over the front gate, a sign listed an improper working emergency number, and that security cameras were missing outside the side door. He also said that the DRA should have called the emergency number during off-hours to determine if it was working.

The DHCR noted that, at the time of inspection, there were 10 working cameras at the side door on the A-K sides and at the front gate, and that the security surveillance cameras were being monitored in the building super's office. The inspector also reported that there were signs posted with the emergency number in the lobby of the building, and that the number posted was in service at the time of the inspection.
