Typewritten Signature OK on Rent Demand
LVT Number: 9077
Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant claimed the rent demand was defective because landlord's signature was typewritten, rather than handwritten. Landlord argued that the signature was valid. The court ruled for landlord. Rent demands don't require a handwritten signature. The typewritten identification, which read ''L & B 595 Madison Inc. Landlord,'' sufficiently notified tenant that rent was past due and whom tenant should pay.
