Triple Damages Imposed

Tenant complained of a rent overcharge. The DHCR ruled for tenant and imposed triple damages based on its finding that the overcharge was willful. Landlord appealed and lost. Landlord hadn't submitted any credible proof of improvements he claimed were made, which would justify an additional rent increase. So the DHCR's finding of a willful rent overcharge and imposition of triple damages was reasonable.
