Tenant Owed Rent Until Landlord Could Rerent Apartment

Landlord sued to evict former tenant for back rent after tenant moved out, as well as for rent covering the four-month period between the time that tenant moved out and landlord rerented the apartment. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant broke his lease, which ran for another year after he moved out. So tenant owed rent until landlord could rerent the apartment.
