Tenant Gets Full Abatement for Rent-Impairing Violations

Landlord sued to evict rent-stabilized tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case, claiming that there were rent-impairing violations. Tenant also asked the court for a rent abatement for the period between June 2020 and May 2022. The court ruled for tenant and granted an abatement for the entire period claimed under MDL Section 302-a.
