Tenant Gets Attorney's Fees After Court Finds He Was Illegally Evicted

Tenant sued landlord claiming illegal lockout. The court ruled that tenant was illegally locked out but wouldn’t give tenant possession out of fairness to new apartment tenants. Tenant then sought attorney’s fees, claiming that he should be awarded $10,000. The court ruled for tenant in part, finding that $3,500 was a fair and reasonable award for the finding of illegal eviction.
