Tenant Gave Up Claims Against Landlords

Facts: Prior landlord agreed to pay tenant $18,000 per year for two years and to then reinstate her in exchange for tenant moving out while building was renovated. Landlord then sold building. New landlord didn't comply with the agreement to let tenant move back in. Tenant sued landlord. The court found that new landlord was bound by the stipulation. Tenant moved back in and settled with prior and current landlords as to the amount of damages owed her. Tenant later sued landlords again. The trial court awarded tenant over $60,000. Landlords appealed.
