Tenant Engaged in Bizarre Behavior
LVT Number: 17714
Landlord sued to evict 86-year-old rent-controlled tenant for creating a nuisance. Landlord and tenant signed a settlement agreement in court, which placed tenant on probation. Tenant agreed not to engage in threatening behavior. Landlord later claimed that tenant had violated the agreement. After a hearing, the court ruled for landlord and an eviction warrant was issued. Tenant appealed and won. Tenant engaged in bizarre behavior during the probation period. He held up a horned deer head and acted as if he were going to charge at the super. He also pointed a decorative bow and arrow set at building staff while ''laughing like crazy.'' But no one called the police at the time, and there was no proof that anyone's safety was actually threatened.
