Tenant Didn't Renew Lease

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant didn't renew his lease; landlord then went ahead and raised tenant's rent. Tenant refused to pay the rent increase. The trial court in Putnam County ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed, and the appeals court reversed. Landlord wasn't entitled to unilaterally increase tenant's rent and maintain a nonpayment proceeding on that basis.
