Tenant Can't Get Further Delay of Trial
LVT Number: 11668
Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant asked the court for several delays over a four-month period. The court then denied tenant's request for a further delay. Tenant appealed and lost. The court didn't abuse its discretion. Tenant's request for a further delay was intended simply to prolong the proceedings. Tenant admitted that he hadn't paid the rent owed.
