Sloping Floors

LVT Number: 17701

Tenant complained of a reduction in services. The floors in the apartment, from the living room to the foyer and from the bedroom entrance to the front of the bathroom, slanted downwards. The DRA ruled for tenant and reduced his rent. Landlord later applied for rent restoration based on restoration of services. The DRA ruled against landlord. Landlord appealed and lost. An inspection showed that the floors still slanted downward. Landlord hadn't done any work to correct the floors since the DRA issued its order.

And landlord's claim that the sloping floors was a minor condition was improperly raised in its application to restore rent.
