Landlord sued to evict nine tenants in separate court cases for nonpayment of rent. Tenants asked the court to consolidate the cases. The court ruled for tenants. Tenants all lived in the same building and were joined together in a rent strike. Tenants all raised issues regarding building-wide services in answer to landlord's nonpayment petitions and were all represented by the same attorney.
