New Landlord Responsible for Boiler Defects

DOB issued a violation notice to landlord for not maintaining a boiler in a safe and proper condition. Landlord claimed that the violation resulted from prior landlord's boiler repair work. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined it $350. Landlord appealed and lost. Current landlord is responsible for maintaining the boiler. It didn't matter who was responsible for the condition. It was a hazardous condition, and only current landlord was in control of the building.
