LLC Landlord Must Use Attorney
LVT Number: 16627
Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case because landlord didn't appear in court with an attorney. Landlord claimed that an attorney wasn't required because an LLC was like a partnership. The court ruled for tenant. An LLC has limited liability, like a corporation. So, like a corporation, it must use an attorney to appear in court.
