Landlord Showed Financial Ability to Complete Demolition
LVT Number: 19118
Landlord sought permission not to renew tenant's rent-stabilized lease based on landlord's intention to demolish the building. The DRA ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant claimed that landlord hadn't proved its financial ability to complete the demolition. In a separate proceeding, the DHCR had determined that landlord had submitted sufficient proof of its financial status. So landlord could proceed with eviction action against tenant.
