Landlord Not Responsible for Tenant's Fall in Building Stairwell

Tenant sued landlord, claiming negligence. Tenant had fallen down the stairs in her apartment building when her foot became stuck in a sticky substance on the stairs. Landlord claimed that it didn't cause the condition and had no knowledge of it. Landlord asked the court to dismiss the case without a trial. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant presented no proof that any hazard existed before her accident.
