Landlord Had No Certificate of Fitness for Air Compressor

The Fire Department issued a violation notice to landlord for failing to obtain a certificate of fitness for an air compressor. The ALJ fined landlord $750. Landlord appealed and produced the certificate of fitness that was issued on March 30, 2015. ECB ruled against landlord. To avoid a penalty, landlord had to show that it had a valid certificate of fitness prior to March 17, 2015, which was the date of the ECB hearing.
