Landlord Gets MCI Increase for Building-Wide Floor Retiling

LVT Number: #26856

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on the installation of new floor tiles in the building lobby and hallways, as well as a new front entrance door. The DRA ruled for landlord. Tenants appealed and lost. Tenants claimed that some of the floor tiling work wasn’t actually floor tiling. But the installation of granite flooring and trim consisted of either the retiling work itself or necessary work that was performed in connection with or directly related to the floor tiling.
