Increase Granted for New Mailboxes

Landlord applied for MCI rent increases, based on the installation of replacement mailboxes. The DRA ruled against landlord because landlord hadn't moved the mailboxes to a safer location when replacing them. Landlord appealed. The DHCR ruled for landlord. DHCR's relocation rule for replacement mailboxes applies in New York City only. In Nassau, Westchester, and Rockland counties, no relocation is required to qualify for an MCI rent increase.
