Gas and Laundry Room Services Restored

Rent-stabilized tenant complained to the DHCR in November 2018 of a reduction in building-wide services based on her claim that the building had no gas service and that laundry room services had been discontinued as of June 15, 2018. The DRA ruled against tenant, who appealed and lost. At the time of DHCR inspection in May 2019, gas and laundry services were provided at the building, and tenants had access to the laundry room. At the time of inspection, two of the four washers were in use and working, and one of the five dryers was in use and working. Since the services were operational at the time of DHCR inspection, the DRA properly terminated the proceeding without granting any rent reduction to tenant.
