Elevator Condition Minor

LVT Number: 14887

Tenant complained of a reduction in building-wide services based on a number of conditions. The DRA ruled for tenant, and landlord appealed. With regard to the elevator condition in question, landlord claimed that it was a minor condition not warranting a rent reduction. The DHCR ruled for landlord. An inspection showed that the elevator door, when opened wide, rubbed the lobby floor. This condition wasn't found to hinder or prevent the use of the elevator in any way. And there was no proof of any city elevator violation. So the rent reduction for this condition was revoked.
