DHCR-Supervised Mitchell-Lama Building Isn't Subject to Rent Stabilization

LVT Number: #29998

Tenant complained to the DHCR of a reduction in apartment services. The DRA dismissed tenant's complaint because tenant's building was part of the New York State Mitchell-Lama Program. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant denied that he lived in a Mitchell-Lama building. But the DHCR found that the building was under Mitchell-Lama. The DHCR supervised the Mitchell-Lama building, but the building wasn't subject to the Rent Stabilization Law.
