Cost of Repainting and Replastering Included

Landlord applied for MCI rent increases based on a number of improvements. The DRA ruled for landlord but disallowed an increase for the cost of repainting and replastering of building public areas. Landlord appealed and won. The repainting and replastering were necessary work done in connection with the installation of the new doors, mailboxes, and intercom system, which were all found to be MCIs. The related work was done within a few months of the MCI installations, and the costs were added to the MCI increases.
