Corroded Sink Base

Rent-controlled tenant complained of a reduction in services. The DRA ruled against tenant after an inspection, and tenant appealed. Among other things, the DRA had found that the kitchen sink was properly maintained. But tenant showed that the sink base inside the cabinet was corroded and needed to be replaced. The DHCR ruled for tenant and amended the DRA's order to give tenant a $10 rent reduction for this condition.
