Boiler Exempt from Registration Requirements

DOB issued violation notices to landlord for not maintaining three boilers because they weren't registered. Landlord claimed that its boilers were exempt from the registration requirements. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined it $500. Landlord appealed and won. Each boiler had a Btu input capacity of significantly less than 350,000. The building code specifically exempts boilers of this size from the registration requirements.
