Bathroom Door Saddle Wasn't Defective

Rent-stabilized tenant complained of a reduction in services. She complained that the bathroom door saddle was higher than the floor and created a trip hazard. The DRA ruled for tenant after inspection. Landlord appealed and won. There was no defect in the door saddle. The DHCR doesn't investigate or enforce complaints regarding the installation of accommodations that tenants may request in connection with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Any such complaints must be filed with the agency charged with enforcing the ADA.
