Bad Credit History Wasn't Pretext for Discrimination Against Applicant

LVT Number: #28207

Prospective tenant sued landlord, claiming discrimination when landlord rejected her rental application. Landlord claimed that it denied the application due to negative credit history, verified by a TransUnion credit check. The court granted landlord's request to dismiss the case. Even if tenant presented a case for discrimination, she failed to show that landlord's legitimate, nondiscriminatory reason for denying her application was a pretext for discrimination.
